“We shall provide good quality housing for all Goans in the next five years by providing home loans for deserving families at an interest rate of 2% for women and 4% for men and developing & providing residential plots.”
On track for the residential-plots component only. Goa Housing Board officially states that its objective is to provide residential house sites and housing facilities to the Goan population at reasonable price. Official post-2022 notices include disposal of residential plots by auction/e-auction and acquisition or purchase of land at various locations in Goa. This confirms concrete activity on residential plots, but does not confirm universal housing for all Goans or the separate 2%/4% subsidised home-loan commitment.
To reduce further unorganized expansion of urban areas of the state, effi-cient and dense housing will be encouraged through urban governance reforms.
We will ensure the fast track construction of all remaining houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin to ensure that the rural popu-lace of the state has access to affordable and quality housing.
We will build Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) in every municipal corporation of Goa to ensure that the urban poor of the state have access to affordable quality housing, and we will also ensure that projects under PMAY Urban will be completed on a fast track mission mode.
