Eliminate stunting and malnutrition among children

Partial. Stunting is itself an indicator of child malnutrition and is therefore assessed together with wasting and underweight rather than being inserted as a separate overlapping promise. Official Poshan Tracker data recorded substantial improvement in Goa. In June 2022, 33.74 percent of measured children were stunted, 6.72 percent were wasted and 13.93 percent were underweight. By June 2024, the reported figures had fallen to 5.84 percent stunted, 0.85 percent wasted and 2.18 percent underweight. However, elimination has not been achieved. June 2025 district data continued to record stunting, wasting and underweight in both districts: North Goa recorded 3.10 percent, 0.44 percent and 1.18 percent respectively, while South Goa recorded 8.56 percent, 1.05 percent and 2.56 percent. Poshan Tracker data cover children enrolled in Anganwadis and measured for growth parameters, not the entire child population, so they cannot establish universal elimination across Goa. Clear programme funding is confirmed through Mission Poshan 2.0 releases to Goa, including Rs 14.71 crore in 2022-23, Rs 13.95 crore in 2023-24 and Rs 13.44 crore in 2024-25. The evidence demonstrates meaningful progress and funded continuing action, but official malnutrition indicators remain above zero. Status partial.
