“To increase monthly salary of Anganwadi Workers from Rs 11,500 to Rs 15,000 with retirement benefit of Rs 3 Lakhs on premature death or retirement, and Mini Anganwadi workers from Rs 7,500 to Rs 10,000 with retirement benefit of Rs 2 Lakhs on premature death or retirement.”
Stalled. The promise was to raise the main Anganwadi worker honorarium from Rs 11,500 to Rs 15,000 and mini-Anganwadi workers from Rs 7,500 to Rs 10,000, with retirement/death benefits of Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh. In the 2025-26 budget the state increased the Anganwadi worker honorarium by only Rs 1,000 (and helpers by Rs 750) - far short of the promised figures - and worker associations have continued to protest that the Rs 15,000 demand remains unmet. Real movement, but stalled well short of the target; the promised retirement-benefit component is not confirmed.
