Steps to strengthen the fiscal position of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) include Finance Commission grants devolved to panchayats, measures to enhance own-source revenue, digital accounting (eGramSwaraj) and property/asset mapping under SVAMITVA to expand local revenue bases.
