“To move away from punishment to justice, and improve the current conviction rate in the country, we will launch a National Forensics Mission to strengthen the forensic infrastructure.”
Forensic infrastructure is being expanded, reinforced by the new criminal laws - the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita makes forensic investigation mandatory for offences carrying seven years imprisonment or more - driving demand for forensic capacity. The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is expanding campuses nationally to train manpower, and central/state forensic laboratories are being strengthened. However, a formally launched, distinctly named National Forensics Mission with a comprehensive funded infrastructure rollout is only partially evidenced. Partial.
We have set up a High Powered Committee to examine the issues of conducting simultaneous elections and will work towards the implementation of the recommendations of the Committee.
We have already enacted a strict law to stop misconduct in recruitment exams across the country. We will strictly implement this law to ensure strict punishment to those playing with the future of our youth.
We will further strengthen the capacity of statistical institutions to give an impetus to data driven policy making.
