Establish integrated military theatre commands

The promise was to establish integrated military theatre commands after creating the CDS position. Official evidence shows important enabling progress: the Department of Military Affairs was created with theatre-command restructuring as a listed function, the Ministry of Defence declared 2025 the Year of Reforms to facilitate Integrated Theatre Commands, and HQ Integrated Defence Staff reported joint doctrines, joint orders and instructions to strengthen jointness and integration. Approved reporting also indicates that rules under the Inter-Services Organisations framework have strengthened commanders authority over personnel in joint-service and upcoming theatre structures. However, I did not find official evidence that the integrated theatre commands themselves have been formally established and operationalised by July 2026. This is partial because legal, organisational and doctrine-level foundations exist, but the core promised commands are still not delivered.
