TOI reported in 2023 that 8,000 sanitary-napkin vending machines would be installed in government schools for Classes 9-12, colleges and women's hostels. That is meaningful progress, but it does not cover all educational institutions and the reported model charged Rs 5 for a pair of napkins rather than free supply. This is partial. Budget status: installation plan exists, but no full free-napkin allocation was isolated.
