Expand the number of international airports

The promise was to expand the number of international airports. Official pre-manifesto evidence put the number of international airports at 30 in 2023, while later official aviation records list newer international-domestic aerodromes including Noida International Airport at Jewar and Navi Mumbai International Airport. DGCA granted the aerodrome licence for Noida International Airport in March 2026, and official reporting also described Noida as the second international airport for the Delhi NCR region. These are meaningful steps toward expanding international gateways, but the evidence found in this batch does not prove a large nationwide increase in operational international airports with regular international services. This is partial because new international-capable airports are being added, but the promised expansion is not fully evidenced at scale. Budget: broad mapped airport-sector capital evidence exists through AAI and other airport developers targeting about Rs 91,000 crore in airport-sector capex and greenfield airport development, but no standalone international-airport expansion budget or utilisation line was found.
