The promise was to create big convention centres across cities and position Bharat as a global destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Official Tourism Ministry evidence shows MICE promotion has advanced through a digital MICE catalogue covering infrastructure across 60 cities, guidelines for MICE Promotion Bureaus and planned city-level convention promotion bureaus from 2026. Under the SASCI tourism scheme, the Government sanctioned MICE-linked infrastructure projects in 2024-25, including an International Convention Centre for MICE in Bhopal and MICE infrastructure in Mawkhanu, Meghalaya. However, major Delhi venues such as Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi pre-date the 2024 manifesto and should be treated as context rather than new delivery for this term. This is partial because new MICE-linked sanctions and institutional steps exist, but completed new convention centres across cities are not yet evidenced at the promised scale. Budget: direct mapped allocation exists through SASCI tourism sanctions, including Rs 99.38 crore for the Bhopal International Convention Centre for MICE and Rs 99.27 crore for MICE infrastructure in Mawkhanu, but utilisation and completion evidence for these projects was not found.
