“We will promote manufacturing, research, and development in the railway sector to make Bharat a leading global railway manufacturing hub.”
Railway manufacturing is being scaled with indigenous rolling stock - mass production of Vande Bharat trainsets (including sleeper and Namo Bharat variants), modernised coach/locomotive factories, the 12,000 HP electric locomotive programme, and growing interest in exporting Indian-made trains and components. R&D and Make in India sourcing are being deepened. Becoming a "leading global railway manufacturing hub" is a continuing trajectory rather than an achieved end-state. Partial.
We will transform airports into multi-modal hubs with integrated transit facilities such as buses, metro and rapid rail among others by effective use of PM Gatishakti National Master Plan.
We will bring a commercial aircraft manufacturing ecosystem to Bharat. For this we will design a Policy for Aerospace Manufacturing in the country and try to develop our own passenger aircraft. We will strengthen the civil aviation ecosystem by encouraging Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul activities as well as Aircraft Financing and Leasing Activities institutions through comprehensive government support programs under the Make in India initiative.
We will introduce the Amrit Kaal Civil Aviation Master Plan to transform our airports into regional international hubs, providing single-point connectivity to designated regions worldwide, with the vision to position Bharat as the leading aviation ecosystem of South Asia.
