“We will significantly increase passenger carrying capacity by 2030 to significantly reduce the waiting list.”
Railways are working to expand passenger-carrying capacity through new trains and coaches (1,674 locomotives and 6,677 LHB coaches manufactured in FY2025-26), additional Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat services, capacity augmentation works, and a modernised Passenger Reservation System (commissioned December 2025) capable of far higher booking volumes, alongside Aadhaar-based measures and removal of 3.04 crore suspicious accounts to curb ticketing abuse. The pledge’s explicit target is 2030, so progress is on track but the outcome (significantly reduced waiting lists) is not yet achieved. Partial.

We will bring a commercial aircraft manufacturing ecosystem to Bharat. For this we will design a Policy for Aerospace Manufacturing in the country and try to develop our own passenger aircraft. We will strengthen the civil aviation ecosystem by encouraging Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul activities as well as Aircraft Financing and Leasing Activities institutions through comprehensive government support programs under the Make in India initiative.
We will introduce the Amrit Kaal Civil Aviation Master Plan to transform our airports into regional international hubs, providing single-point connectivity to designated regions worldwide, with the vision to position Bharat as the leading aviation ecosystem of South Asia.
