The promise was to expand the Jan Aushadhi Kendra network to provide high-quality low-cost medicines across the country. The network grew from the 10,000th Kendra in November 2023 to 15,000 Kendras by January 2025 and 18,646 Kendras by 28 February 2026. Government releases now state a target of 25,000 Kendras by March 2027 and report medicines sold at about 50 to 80 percent lower prices than branded medicines. This is on_track because expansion is measurable and active, but the 25,000-Kendra target has not yet been reached. Budget: direct allocation exists under the Jan Aushadhi Scheme, with Rs 353.50 crore in BE 2025-26, Rs 190 crore in RE 2025-26 and Rs 200.50 crore in BE 2026-27 for effective implementation of PMBJP.

We will strengthen Bharat's position as the 'Pharmacy of the World' by boosting the manufacturing and research capacities of the pharmaceutical sector, especially APIs. We will expand Research Linked Incentive schemes, encouraging companies to invest in research for new drugs, chemical entities and new biological entities.
We will organise regular Ayush camps to provide holistic healthcare solutions rooted in Ayurveda, Yoga and other traditional practices to promote active living and vitality of elders.
We will facilitate Yoga and Ayurveda Institutes in all the major countries for providing certified courses. We will also establish a globally recognised certification mechanism for Yoga and Ayurveda.
