Facilitate global Yoga and Ayurveda institutes and a certification mechanism

The promise was to facilitate Yoga and Ayurveda institutes in all major countries for certified courses and to establish a globally recognised certification mechanism. Official evidence shows meaningful progress: the Ministry of Ayush reported 25 country-to-country MoUs, 15 Ayush Chair MoUs, 52 institute-level MoUs and 43 Ayush Information Cells in 39 foreign nations. The Yoga Certification Board certifies Yoga professionals and accredits Yoga institutions, and the government reported more than seven lakh Yoga professionals and volunteers certified under the YCB framework by May 2026. For Ayurveda, the Ayurveda Training Accreditation Board had accredited 113 Ayurveda training courses, including 14 international courses from 2 countries, and endorsed 41 overseas Ayurveda practitioners. However, the evidence does not show Yoga and Ayurveda institutes in all major countries or a single certification mechanism that is globally recognised and adopted across major jurisdictions. Budget: direct mapped allocation exists through the Promotion of International Cooperation scheme, with Rs 136 crore in BE 2025-26, Rs 142.75 crore in RE 2025-26 and Rs 156 crore in BE 2026-27, and related support also includes the India-WHO donor agreement of US$ 85 million for WHO-GTMC over 2022-2032.
