“We instituted the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas to recognise the huge contribution made by our tribal communities. We will take this forward by declaring the year 2025 (the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda) as Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.”
The pledge has been delivered. The government declared the period 15 November 2024 to 15 November 2025 as Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, turning the annual Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas into a year-long, whole-of-government movement (with the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada from 1-15 November 2025 as its culmination). The PM led commemorations and announced Birsa Munda Tribal Gaurav Upvans in tribal-dominated districts. Fulfilled.
Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh (15 Nov 2024 - 15 Nov 2025) launched on Birsa Munda’s 150th birth anniversary as a year-long celebration of tribal heritage.
